Sunbury United Football Club named the Metropolitan Club Changer of the Year!

Over the past year, we’ve worked tirelessly to grow participation in football, particularly for women and girls, while ensuring these efforts benefit the entire club and community. Initiatives like expanded coaching pathways, facility improvement advocacy, and inclusive programs are building a stronger future for all.

This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the commitment of our players, coaches, committee members, and supporters, who share a vision of equity and excellence.

While these achievements focus on women and girls, the benefits extend to every member of Sunbury United:

  • Improved Facilities: The advocacy work we’ve undertaken means we are better positioned to advocate for improved infrastructure for all teams, from juniors to seniors.

  • Elevated Standards: Enhanced coaching resources and leadership development improve the experience for all players across the club.

  • Deeper Community Connections: Events and programs that celebrate inclusivity bring our entire community closer together.

  • Stronger Recognition: National awards and grants increase visibility for the club as a whole, attracting new players, supporters, and opportunities.

  • Future Pathways: By strengthening pathways and growing participation, we’re building a deeper talent pool for all teams, ensuring long-term success.

Investing in equity and inclusion makes Sunbury United stronger as a whole, setting us up for success on and off the field.

Thank you to Football Australia and the Club Changer program for recognising our work. We look forward to the many opportunities this award will give our club over the next 12 months and into the future.
