It is with mixed emotions that we announce a change in our coaching staff for the 2023 season. Due to personal reasons, Andy Hales will no longer be able to fulfill the role of Reserve Coach.
At the same time, we are excited to welcome Ian Anderson as our new Reserve Coach. Ian brings a wealth of experience and a strong passion for the sport, and we have no doubt that he will be an asset to our club and will help continue the success and development of our Reserve team. We look forward to working with him and supporting him in his new role.
"Please join us in welcoming Ian to our club and in wishing Andy all the best."
"Throughout my life, I have had a passion for football and have dedicated much of my time to playing the sport. In Scotland, I played for Pumpherston Juniors and Peebles Rovers before moving to Australia. Upon my arrival, I played Churches league for Knox and was fortunate enough to lead the team to a league championship in my first season.
For the next 10 years, I played for Sunbury and had a successful stint, winning the Best and Fairest player award in my second season playing for the reserves team. After taking a break to focus on my business, I joined Gisborne where I not only played but also took on the role of captain, leading the team to promotion into State League 4. I continued to captain the team for one more season under Danny before stepping down due to the impact of COVID-19." - Ian Anderson
